The Finance Quadrant: Financial Confidence

Fast forward three months and John has managed to find a way of tracking his numbers. In a way that he can relate to. He is no longer feeling overwhelmed with data overload.

As his confidence grows, John is finding it easier to explain the costings to different levels within the business. What was directly and or indirectly causing costs to fluctuate. He was also starting to suggest ways to reduce costs.

John understood what was behind his numbers.

He is predicting costs with more confidence. John is providing the business with important information to make decisions that will improve the status quo going forward.

This is what financial confidence looks like.

Here is a video of one of my clients sharing the power of understanding what's behind their numbers.

One sporting stat

South Africa recently beat the New Zealand All Blacks to win a record 4th Rugby Union World Cup. The Springboks have a 100% winning record in World Cup finals, beating New Zealand twice (1995 & 2023) and England twice (2007 & 2019).

South Africa's aggregate margin of victory through the knockout stage was three points - the smallest of any winner of the Rugby World Cup. Of the nine previous winners, the next smallest aggregate margin of knockout-stage wins was 17 points by Australia in 1991.
